  21. Mostly embedded systems programming. We use it here for doing data 
  22. aquisition on PeeCees as well, but M2 finds itself being used by smart 
  23. developers who need fast, small code that's faster to develop than 
  24. assembler and less prone to programmer error than either C or assembler.

  26. On a personal note, I write most of my utilities in Modula-2. For some 
  27. people, like myself, M2 agrees with the way you think and the way you 
  28. set up your solutions. For others, C agrees more with you. What makes 
  29. you a good programmer is that you know what tool to use for what 
  30. purpose.

  35. That's debatable. It finds itself in highly specialised environments, 
  36. and those are not common. OTOH, C it very general purpose, and is used 
  37. more (at least in North America).

  41. Yes, but I would have to comment that more people are moving on to 
  42. Modula-3 or C++ for applications programming.

  46. Hm - We're Canada based, and I know Boeing in Washington uses it to do 
  47. some avionics stuff. It's also used by McDonald Dettwiler for things 
  48. like that.

  50. So you can say Canada, USA, and it's probably very popular in Europe, 
  51. since that's where most of the compilers come from.

  53. As a side note, my company refuses to hire programmers that do not have 
  54. experience with a language other than C/C++.
