- Mostly embedded systems programming. We use it here for doing data
- aquisition on PeeCees as well, but M2 finds itself being used by smart
- developers who need fast, small code that's faster to develop than
- assembler and less prone to programmer error than either C or assembler.
-
- On a personal note, I write most of my utilities in Modula-2. For some
- people, like myself, M2 agrees with the way you think and the way you
- set up your solutions. For others, C agrees more with you. What makes
- you a good programmer is that you know what tool to use for what
- purpose.

-
- That's debatable. It finds itself in highly specialised environments,
- and those are not common. OTOH, C it very general purpose, and is used
- more (at least in North America).

- - is there still life in the lang ?
-
- Yes, but I would have to comment that more people are moving on to
- Modula-3 or C++ for applications programming.

- - in which country ... ?
-
- Hm - We're Canada based, and I know Boeing in Washington uses it to do
- some avionics stuff. It's also used by McDonald Dettwiler for things
- like that.
-
- So you can say Canada, USA, and it's probably very popular in Europe,
- since that's where most of the compilers come from.
-
- As a side note, my company refuses to hire programmers that do not have
- experience with a language other than C/C++.
